Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems - Groups 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8
This is an online based training in Electrical Wiring Interconnection System (EWIS) for Groups 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
The course contents comply with AMC4 145.A.30(e) and AMC 20-22.
This course is suitable for initial and refresh training.
Refresher/continuous training is a mandatory requirement every 2 years.
After concluding the training, you can download directly to your computer (pdf format) your Certificate of Recognition and print a copy of it if necessary.
There are no prerequisites for taking this course.
Note: Once purchased you have 2 months to complete your course.
Note 1: If you wish to purchase a set of accesses for your organization’s employees, please contact us directly in order that we can provide you with an access package.
At the end of the course, the trainee must:
- To recognize the safe use of EWIS, LRU (Line Replaceable Units), tools, troubleshooting procedures and electrical measurements;
- To understand the wiring maintenance manuals and know how to handle these manuals;
- To know and differentiate the types of inspections, human factors in inspections, zonal areas, and typical damage;
- To identify the sources of contamination, materials, cleaning and protection procedures;
- Know the correct identification of different types of electrical cables, inspection criteria, damage tolerance, repair and preventive maintenance procedures;
- To know the procedures for identifying, inspecting, and defining the correct repair of typical plugs found in aircraft;
- To demonstrate the procedures for replacing typical plugs found in aircrafts.
According to AMC 20-22, this course is designed to the following groups:
Target Group 4: Qualified staff performing general maintenance/inspections not involving wire maintenance (LRU change is not considered wire maintenance). These technicians perform maintenance on aircraft that may require removal/reinstallation of electrical systems. (Category A or B1 Inspectors/Technicians).
Target Group 5: Qualified staff performing other engineering or planning work on in-service aircrafts.
Target Group 6: Other service staff with duties in proximity to electrical wiring interconnection systems.
Target Group 7: Flight Deck Crew.
Target Group 8: Cabin Crew.
